Foregoo Introduction

I spent 15 years collecting thoroughbred racing memorabilia, having a great time collecting many interesting horse racing items. However, I do not collect anymore, and have decided it is time to offer my collection to those who might get more enjoyment from having them, rather than continue to store them.  The items listed here are on a first-come, first-served basis and I will not likely be adding any more to the list.

I have spent many hours listing and detailing every program in a database set up just for this endeavour. It has been part joy (recalling great racing moments), and part tedium - but it is all worth it if the programs sell to you worthy collectors!

I do not have a secret way to search for certain items , such as those relating to a particular horse.  I may be able to give you some search hints but looking through for the items that you want is something you will have to set aside time for.

ORDERING/SHIPPING INFORMATION - PLEASE READ

Program Listing

The following information is included in the program listing:

Stake Race is shown (if no stake is in the program, it says, "None")

Short forms such as "BUD" (Budweiser), "ARL" (Arlington), WO (Woodbine), H or HCP (Handicap), PP's (Past Performances cut from Racing Form) etc. are used.

 2. Year (shown in 2 digits, eg. 1982 is "82")

3. Horses listed in the program (some are included as they won or were favourite, usually the stake race)

4. Any special notes regarding condition, cover, anything unique-don't miss the special low prices on programs in lower condition (example, Also G: $1 = also in Good condition for $1.00)

5. If the program is extra large (like a magazine-type) because it may require extra postage paid by the buyer

 6. Condition: 1=MINT (never used) 2=VERY GOOD (often near mint; usually no writing or especially good for it's age) 3=GOOD (average used; has some writing but still clean) 4=FAIR (Has more writing than usual, perhaps stained or small tear) 5=POOR (Not as good as Fair, but still has all pages and cover unless noted). Keep in mind that ("For Sale as Set") in multiple sets I sometimes make a note about these conditions using short forms: M, VG, G, F, P. This description is arbitrary but carefully done in good faith. No returns due to condition. Everything is sold "as is".

7. Price. I have tried to remain consistent and take into consideration the above variables, but remember, I had about a thousand items to price.

Under "For Sale as Set" I have given a discount on each group of programs considering what each program would otherwise be priced. Also, you may find some programs are lower priced than others; this is due to my having duplicates available. When you write, let me know if you are interested in more than one, and I'll let you know if any more are available.

All prices are in U.S. funds.

ORDERING/PAYMENT

E-mail me and state the track, stake race if any, and the price for each program.  Disregard the numbers at the right of the price, they are for my info.   I will offer a discount on large orders (you must remind me of this, in other words, ask!)

You must always email first to confirm your order is still available. I will e-mail back to let you know if they are still in stock and inform you of the postage.  Payment is to be made by money order - "International money orders" if from the US (otherwise they cannot be cashed outside of Canada). Some US money orders are negotiable only in the USA.

Please, serious enquiries only, as locating, packaging and getting postage costs is a time-consuming procedure.  Thanks for your cooperation!

Orders can be picked up in Mount Forest, Ontario, Canada.  This is preferable for items such as collector glasses.
